This visually attractive table ornament uses and abstract linear motif of subtle strips of earth colored glass. Several hundred strips of 25” x 3mm glass were cut from large flat glass sheets. The glass strips where then positioned on their thin edge within a stainless oval frame and kiln fired at a high temperature. The top section of the glass sculpture was then cold worked and fire polished. It was then positioned on top of a stainless steel mold and kiln fired again to give it shape. The smaller rounded shape of the base was made using similar strips of glass and kiln fired several times.
This item measures 7.5” wide x .8” high x 19.75” long.
