Glass Fish on Water
This attractive glass sculpture contains both transparent and solid colored glass. The transparent glass adds a luminous effect to the sculpture. The body of the sculpture was constructed using strips of different colored glass. A stainless steel rod was inserted into the body on which the fish will rest when placed on its base, The body of the fish was then fired, at a high temperature in a glass kiln so that all pieces of glass would adhere to one another. The fish fins and glass base were constructed similarly and kiln fired fired separately. The body of the fish was then kiln fired again at a lower temperature to give it shape shape. The two fins were then attached to the fish body. This sculpture can be rotated on its base and the fish can be positioned at any angle.
This item weighs 7 lbs and measures 15.5” long x 10.25” high x 6.0” wide.
